Question: Which of the following is/are inadmissible reasons for dismissal?
1) Pregnancy
2) Being convicted of a criminal offence
3) Whistleblowinga) 1 and 2 only
b) 1 and 3 only
c) 1 only
d) 1, 2 and 3In the above question, what does inadmissible mean in the context of dismissal. Also what does whistleblowing mean. The 2) being convicted of a criminal offence seems to be an unfair ground for dismissal because if a person convicted of crime has passed his period for punishment and is now looking for employment, the employer cannot differentiate on this basis. So is 2) an unfair ground for dismissal or not and why. Also why correct answer is really the correct one.

“Whistleblowing” you can find by a quick search of the Internet
Option 2, the word “being” suggests that this is a new, current conviction. Had the question meant that the employee had, some years ago, been convicted of a criminal offense and served his / her punishment, the wording would have read “Had been convicted …”
“Why the correct answer is the correct one?” is because it’s … the correct one
