September 26, 2018 at 9:01 am #475773Hello Sir,
I think there is a typing mistake in BPP because it says when the email reaches the offeree in the time it should be the offeror who must receive the acceptance.
as the Pdf you attached says
(2) An acceptance of an offer becomes effective at the moment the indication of
assent reaches the offeror. An acceptance is not effective if the indication of
assent does not reach the offeror within the time he has fixed, or, if no time is
fixed, within a reasonable time, due to account being taken of the circumstances
of the transaction, including the rapidity of the means of communication
employed by the offeror. An oral offer must be accepted immediately unless the
circumstances indicate otherwise.please clarify,
Thanks
September 26, 2018 at 8:11 pm #475809It cannot possibly be the case that acceptance is effective when the offer reaches the offeree – that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever
I can fully understand that acceptance is effective when the indication of acceptance reaches the offeror
It would appear that your conclusion is correct and that there is an error in the BPP material (provided, of course, that you have correctly copied it)
Think about this – just how easy is it to confuse the two words (offeror and offeree)? Very! And spellcheck would not pick that error up
OK?
