    Hi all

I’m an ACCA student currently working through my F-series exams by home study using BPP textbook & OpenTuition lectures.

I had understood that I couldn’t apply for any P-series exams until I had either passed or applied to sit all remaining F-series exams at the same sitting as the first P-series exam

For the record. I am MAAT therefore exempt F1,F2,F3
    I passed F6 Dec 2012, F9 Jun 2013, F5 Dec 2013 (notified this month)
I have now had an email from ACCA stating that I am eligible to sit P1

Have I accidentally hit on the combination of exams that allows me to go on to P1 early? It was just fluke that I didnt choose to do the exams in the normal order.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    hi Chris,

I had the same question as I have just received an e-mail from them saying that I am now eligible for taking my P1 exam.

You can take up to 4 exams per examination cycle but you need to take them in line with the modules. That means that if you want to take P1 in June 2014 you will have to enter for your remaining 3 exams from the F4-F7 module and P1.

    I hope that makes sense.

Hi – I have just checked up on the ACCA website. When entering exams ‘across modules’ so entering the last 3 Fs and 1 P level, the rule says that you must attempt the next module ‘in sequence’

I admit to having previously believed that you could enter for any one of P1, P2 and P3 but apparently I’m not correct in my former interpretation.

Having said that, the ‘rule’ on the ACCA website is not abundantly clear, but it’s the only interpretation which would explain why ACCA is specifying that, with 3 F level papers left, the only P paper you are eligible to enter for is P1 ie the first ‘in sequence’ in the P level compulsory papers

Thanks for that, both of you.

I have no intention of paying 4 exam fees at one go… I think I’ll let P1 wait for a little longer.

    All the best
    Chris

There are far fewer restrictions on what exams you can take than there were when this thread was created.Modules must still be taken in order but P1-P7 can be taken with the balance of foundation papers unless timetable clashes prevent paper combination being taken as they are examined on same day.Its also subject to maximum number of papers per cycle and calendar year.Hope this helps.
