Both seem horizontal too me. In neither case does seniority play a part: both are department v department.

Hi, i need help on the following questions:

Which of the following would you consider to be relevant to the social part of the
    LongPEST model?

    1. effect of unemployment on demand
    2. changes in safely legislation
    3. changes in leisure pursuits
    4. analysis of the population by age group
    5. volatility of interest rates
    6. religious affiliation and practices

Which of the following is not a benefit of Globalisation

    1. flexibility to move production to lower cost market
    2. elimination of business risk due to to geographical diversification
    3. potential access to profitable markets
    4. economies of scale

    Thank you.

    I would say 3, 4, 6 are social (1 and 5 = economic and 2 is legal).

For globalisation, the exception is 2. Business risk will be reduced but it will never be eliminated.

Many, many thanks Ken for helping me out on the questions.

I however have one more question on transaction cost. The question is as follows:

Which of the below statements are true of transaction costs?

1.The transaction cost theory allows distinctive competence to be identified
2.Transaction cost theory support organisation restructuring
    3. IT increases transaction costs
4.Increase in trust increase transaction costs

    Thank you

That’s really tough and very academic. I’m struggling! But my suggestions are:

4 Must reduce costs (eg verification of competence, credit ratings etc)

3 I would have thought IT reduces costs.

2 Organisations should restructure to become efficient so transaction costs would help them move in the right direction

1 I think this is right. A distinctive competence should make a supplier more efficient and better.

So, I would go for 1 and 2……….but who knows?

Yes its really tough and very academic. I struggled too to find the right answers
and the text book for bpp explains only very little on transaction costs.

I will go 1 & 2. Thank you so much for your input.

A plus/minus limit is placed around an amount such as cost or time. This is the tolerance.

As long as the project or activity remains within tolerance no action has to be taken. As soon as the project manager forecasts that a tolerance will be exceeded, this triggers an exception report for presentation to the project management team.

is would you happen to have any exam related question on the project tolerances as i
got one in my last E2 sitting but forgot what it was asking.

    Kind regards
