E-marketing is using web-sites and social media to market products and services.
This type of marketing could be purely transactional (ie not much interest taken in who the customers are or in forming a relationship with them. Alternatively it can try to build customer loyalty and a longer term relationship etc. E-marketing lends itself to customer relationship marketing because often you set up an account name and information about your purchases and interests etc are slowly build up. Think of how Amazon does it.
