Hi, Is there any difference(s) between DSS and EIS? Kaplan discussed DSS only while BPP discussed only EIS. the features of the two is somehow hard to understand?
2) Does MIS support structured decision making at all management level? BPP states at operational and management control level. Thanks.. please pardon for asking too much. I have failed twice.
The syllabus does not mention DSS, only EIS (and you can find an explanation of EIS on page 84 of our free lecture notes).
(Decision support systems/software are programs such as linear programming software which managers can use to help them make decisions).
MIS is software that converts data into information – such as producing standard monthly reports. As such it is most useful for management and operational decision making.
