Hi Ken,
Firstly, in my opinion you are the best, most concise tutor on open tuition, so thank you for your invaluable help.
I had a quick peek at an introductory video from another tuition provider(!!!!) and i note that they state that the examiners have removed the emphasis from the different types of models, and in fact discourage their use in examination answers to SBL, and expect much more focus on practical points.
What are your thoughts on this?
Additionally, do you thinks there is a chance the examiners will be more lenient as this is the first exam of its type?

The ACCA provides guidance here
A couple of the documents contain the following:
‘…there will be no specific guidance as to particular theories/models/methods or approaches you should use in answering the questions – it is your decision and you can draw from your knowledge of the Strategic Business Leader syllabus.’
, specific theories and models will not be specified in Strategic Business Leader requirements, although a candidate carrying out the various tasks, may be required to decide which of these techniques, models or theories may best apply to help them achieve their overall objective.
So, you will never be asked to use a specific model, but you can be asked to apply a suitable model (see Sample Exam 1, Q1 (a)(i)). Presumably, no model, no marks. Even if not asked to use a model, models can help deriving answers and add respectability to an answer.
So, you should know the specific models mentioned in the syllabus and covered in our material.
