Sir, in case of issue of shares at discount shareholders who have purchased the shares have to pay the remaining amount along with interest. However does this concept apply to unpaid share capital?

    That’s a stupid question!

It ONLY applies to unpaid share capital

When the law talks about a discount on a share issue, that discount is a reduction of value from the NOMINAL value of the share

It seems to me that you’re thinking about it being a discounted amount when compared with the MARKET value of the share … and that would be an incorrect train of thought

    OK?
