    as you mentioned in note page 24 that gifts are allowable if
    1) it cost< 50,
    2) it isn’t food drink or tobacco,and
    3) carry advertisement of business..
    in your page 217 i found that boxes of chocolate (note 5) is disallowed expense because it is not meeting point 2,
    why not calender??? it do not contain advertisement of business??? it is also not meting 3 point then why it isn’t added back??

    It is assumed that the calenders are carrying a conspicuous advertisement for the business. (they almost always do)
    Pay attention the next time you visit some office, even the one your Doc got in his office will have some pharmaceutical company name on it.

    If you read the question it says “Gifts to customers that carry the business name” and then lists the chocolates and the calendars!! READ the question!
