Day to day control is exercised by the board of directors
But the board is answerable to the members
If you accept that it’s the board that controls the company and it’s the members that control the board, can we go that one extra step and say that it’s the members that (indirectly) control the company
I suppose the definitive answer must depend upon the precise wording of the question but I could argue that both possibilities were justifiable
