    Hi everyone

I just finished reading through the 30 June ‘Student Accountant’ which has a line in it stating that students who complete F1, F2, F3 obtain a Diploma in Accounting and Business. Also, once a student completes the Fundamentals level, an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business is awarded.

However, I can’t find any information on the ACCA Global site confirming this or advising when this will be implemented, other than that the Advance Diploma will be awarded to students completing the Fundamentals level after December 2011.

All the information regarding the Diploma in Accounting and Business is geared towards the new Foundations in Accountancy qualification.

Does anyone have any more info or have a link to the Diploma in Accounting and Business for ACCA professional students?

    Thanks!

I can only assume it’s due to the change in syllabus.

I never heard nor got any of it!

    Hey Paladin ,

It’s strange that you didn’t find any info on accaglobal as the direct link is provided in Student Accountant :
    https://www.accaglobal.com/fia/

I believe, that is the most complete info for the moment. This set of awards including the Diploma in Accounting in business is completely new and will be developed with time. The first set of entry-level awards will be examined in Dec 2011.
Also these awards include optional Math and English modules which are available to all of us already now ..

well …i could say alot here, but everything is clearly written on the site 🙂

    Hi Ansi

I had checked out the ‘fia’ link but that only relates to the Fundamentals in Accountancy (which is replacing or being integrated into the CAT) and does not mention how or when it will affect the ACCA professional qualification. Unless I’m missing something?

Maybe it’s too soon to know… I was excited by the idea of being able to put on my CV that I had this ‘diploma’ after completing the knowledge modules. It makes it so much easier for prospective employers when you’re talking about your studies and it helps create clear progression markers within the qualification.

It’s weird , i just opened this page myself and was surprised to see that they modified it completely!! Just yesterday it was full of different information , but today there is just 1 pdf file and that’s all ….hmm ….i guess they reaslise that it was too early to publish it ..or that there were too many questions from students who got interested in those awards..

However, even in that pdf file , see page 6.
It’s written that “F1, F2 and F3 of the ACCA
Qualification will be updated and also first examined
in December 2011. Students who complete F1, F2
and F3 of the ACCA Qualification and Foundations in
Professionalism will also be awarded the Diploma in
    Accounting and Business.”

    And then page 7 :

    “The Advanced Diploma in
Accounting and Business will be awarded to students
who complete the Fundamentals level exams from the
    December 2011 exam session.”

Well, information is stilll not clear , but as far as I understood students who pass those modified knowledge level exams and complete foundations in professionalism will get that diploma. It’s not written yet about students who already completed those exams ..maybe we’ll be given an opportunity to pass them again ..:) .
Or most likely i think that existing students will be awarded an Advanced Diploma, if they complete other requirements 🙂

You can try asking ACCA about it , but i guess it’s better simply to wait a while as the full info will be uploaded on the site in September …at least that’s what is ACCA plans to do according to that pfd .

My understanding is that to get the Diploma, you have to complete the equivalent of F1, F2, F3 and the Foundations in Professionalism module (online on myacca if you are eligible to take it – I completed this the other day….is all on myacca and is free!) but one of your exams (F1/2/3) has to be taken after December 2011.

Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business –
To ensure greater articulation between Foundations in Accountancy and the
ACCA Qualification, ACCA has introduced an Advanced Diploma in Accounting
and Business which will form part of the ACCA Qualification. The Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business will be awarded when students have completed the Fundamentals level exams of the ACCA Qualification. Students
will also need to complete the Professional Ethics module in order to receive
certification for the award of Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business.

Please note students will need to have taken and passed at least two of the six
Skills module papers in order to qualify for the Advanced Diploma.
The Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business will be awarded to students
who complete the Fundamentals level exams, at least one of the exams will
have to be achieved from the June 2011 exam session

    Check the link Pg-15

    @cookie,

you are entitle to claim the cerificate only if you’ve finish the last paper (or any of) the fundamental papers in June 2011 sitting. if you have completed the entire fundamental before this date, you cant get it. offcourse, you’re expected to have complete proffesional ethic module & the whole of the fundamental papers.

please mail acca for further clarification.

@gabriel did they say yes to you? that’s weird cos i got a reply saying acca no longer issue printed version this yr so i hv to dloaded it myself.. if what they said to me is true then it’s kinda disheartening really considering student pay a significant amount of subscription fee every yr to them yet can’t even expect them to issue a decent copy of certificate..
