Hello again! I remember you 🙂

To be honest, DipIFR will not add anything to your credentials. This qualification was introduced more than 20 years ago (I know, I worked on developing the syllabus, exams etc) and aimed at those qualified under UK gaap (before it became so aligned with IFRS).

As it says here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/qualifications/glance/dipifr/overview.html “If you are a finance professional who is NOT already knowledgeable about the details of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) …” – but your ARE. In terms of syllabus coverage/exam docs, DipIFR is pitched somewhere betweem FR and SBR.

If you are looking for additional credentials, you might consider other certifcations instead – see https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/qualifications/glance.html for links

I am sure there are lots of other qualifications out there, but this is not my field of expertise and I don’t know what would be relevant to your aspirations.

    Thank you, Kim.
That is really wonderful piece of information that I was looking for.
I just wanted to keep the knowledge of IFRSs stick. Are there other platforms where I would get engaging reads about IFRSs? or are there specific tips that you would advise that will help in this regard?
I often visit ACCA technical articles under SBR and FR to refresh my knowledge. However, I would like some engaging case studies that would challenge me in different setting considering that I am not fully using my knowledge in my current duties.

    Thanks.

I suggest you bookmark this page and check in regularly for news/updates https://www.ifrs.org/news-and-events/news “sustainability” is huge.

The big topic that you won’t have studied is IFRS 18 – browse the internet to follow developments with the Big 4:
    https://kpmg.com/uk/en/home/insights/2024/03/upcoming-ifrs-accounting-standard.html
    https://www.iasplus.com/en-gb/standards/ifrs-en-gb/ifrs-18-presentation-and-disclosure-in-financial-statements
    https://www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/Deloitte/in/Documents/audit/in-audit-ifrs-18-noexp.pdf
    https://viewpoint.pwc.com/dt/gx/en/pwc/in_briefs/in_briefs_INT/in_briefs_INT/ifrs-18-is-here-redefining-financial-performance-reporting.html

Search “IFRS 18” + pdf and you’ll find BDO and EY (and others) – in time there will be more.
