Hey Kim,
Are the questions in the UK and International exams the same? I was just comparing some of the exams and it looks like they are very much the same exams. So what exactly are the differences? I know that the UK version could have a question on Insolvency and that the international one could have a question on performance information the public sector.
Thanks!
August 28, 2023 at 9:12 am #690807The only other significant areas of difference for the answers are:
1) on matters of ethics, including points from the FRC Ethical Standard instead of or as well as IESBA or ACCA Code;
2) for auditor’s reports, including UK specific additional matters e.g. matters to be reported by exception under Companies Act 2006.August 28, 2023 at 9:14 am #690808The Qs are very similar but £s instead of $s, Ltd/plc rather than Co, London rather than capital city, UK instead of country, etc.
August 28, 2023 at 11:06 am #690814Thanks Kim. Is there any advice you could give us for the exam? For some reason I don’t have access to the pre mock exam or the study hub on the ACCA practice platform. I’ve spoken to them about it and they said they have some IT issues at the moment. So since I don’t have access to those right now, is there anything else you recommend we look at to help with the exam? I’ve gone over all the lecture videos and revision videos and started on past papers.
I know it’s not worth trying to guess what might be on the exam. But do you have any idea about which topics could potentially come up on the exam in September? It’s always the same type of format for the first part of section A, focusing on Risk but what about the rest of the questions? Also the type of risk too, audit, business or material misstatement.
August 29, 2023 at 8:19 am #690869It’s really most important to be practicing current exam style and standard in the CBE practice platform – if you don’t have access to that call ACCA 0141 582 2000 (you appear to be in the UK to make this feasible).
I already answered your question here re Section B https://opentuition.com/topic/section-b-question-2
