Whats the difference in the market value of a company and market value of a business as a whole? Isnt market value of shares equal to that of a company as whole?
Yes it is, but if you are (for example) buying a company then you have to decide how much you are prepared to pay. Similarly if you are selling the you have to decide what the minimum there is that you are prepared to accept,

I actually had to ask the difference in MV of equity shares and MV of a business as a whole.
