    My que is that why are we reducing the decommissioning provision from both carrying value and Value-in-use.

    Please give enough detail so that I and other candidates don’t have to try and find the question. 🙂

    As the answer states there seems to be a very obscure rule in IAS 36, which I have never come across before.

    If we did not deduct the 53 from both asset and liability, I think we would end up with the same answer.

    So, on balance, I wouldn’t worry about it.

    yeah, if we reduce decommissioning provision $53 from both then the effect will be neutral.?
