That adjusted earnings were perfectly misleading investors as it excluded those expenses that were recurring in nature and disclosed that expenses as non recurring also it did not exclude ammortization expense however it should be eliminated while calculating adjusted earnings or else they should have mentioned apm as earnings before dep and ammortization.

I don’t think it is finance lease. finance lease needs the useful life to equal the lease term and should have minimal residual value. In the question it was clearly stated that the lease was recognised as an investment property which is clearly operating lease. I might be wrong but I went with operating lease.

I think explain that the redundancies were settlement and curtailments and expenses to the PL. that the surplus will be subject to a an asset ceiling test and any loss recorded in PL. also that gain or loss on remeasuremenr, goes to OCE. And maybe a brief explanation how a defined benefit scheme works with finance charges and the costs that go to the PL and actuary calculates etc

The lessor had to pay for it, and the original surveyors report was within 12 months of acquisition but the second wasn’t.

What about the acquisition of the subsidiary goodwill calculation, was the cost $60m and NCI $14m and then net assets plus the fair value adjustment of $40m. Wasn’t it giving a bargain in Goodwill?

Yes there was a question about a joint arrangement which was a joint venture not joint operation.

But there was another question, which wanted goodwill for the acquisition of the subsidiary. The question was the one with the surveyor providing Fair value figure in April etc .
