It is only for Paper FM that calculations on futures and options are not required. They have always been required for Paper AFM as is made clear in our free lectures and in the Revision Kits from the ACCA Approved Publishers.

Yeah thank for your comment – so yes there should be no place for a comment saying not required in AFM Virtual Learning (Risk Management recap)

AFM must’ve been a breeze to study if you didn’t cover the sheer amount of calculations behind futures and options risk management haha. It is the section that makes AFM a *technically* challenging and interesting paper!

I did study it but later on closer to exam since I started with the ACCA Virtual Learning Centre which in this section said no calculations required – which was completely inaccurate of course

I happened to see that all the strategic professional papers (except APM and AAA) were challenging, specially AFM paper. Sometimes getting a tough paper is also a good sign as if you go through the following link, you’ll understand.

I was almost mentally prepared to sit for that paper again in this December attempt where, I attempted the exam for 85 marks only. However, on the result day, I was completely surprised to see that I’ve passed the paper that too with a good mark.
So, there’s nothing to worry about. You people have given your best effort in finishing this exam. Stay tuned as there is only 25 days left for your results… All the best of luck to everyone who wrote this paper…
