@abdul yes that’s why you were lucky. From my experience I’ve always believed that in P2 the June papers are more friendly.
January 16, 2015 at 9:58 am #222804@Seanan me too, i cant imagine redoing this paper again!!!! i think i’ll burst.
I dont know but i think its time ACCA starts passing people on leniency.. i mean why should they keep students doing one paper over and over?? unless ofcos its more income for them. My buddy scored 46 in June in P5 and that was his 5th attempt… 4 marks, goddamn it! just 4mrks and he would have been afiliate!!!!! if i was the marker i would just pass him, i would reward his determination of trying 5times without giving up.
If someone has attempted 4 or 5 times and has scored between 45 and 49, why not just pass him…?
In any case by failing a person all the time casts doubt on the competences of other examiners… why would one pass 13papers straight up and struggle with just one?????
how did the 13 examiners pass him???
Anyway i hope all in all we all passJanuary 16, 2015 at 10:03 am #222807@Gabriel when P2 is tough, thats when marks are easily gained… Am a living testimony, we got a very fair paper in my first attempt and everybody here was hoping to pass but not many did… i scored 47 and i was even tempted to do admin review…the following sitting was soooo difficult but we passed when i was so sure i’d not score more than 35
January 16, 2015 at 12:14 pm #222817@kibalka I think your 2nd pass was a June sitting and your first failure was a Dec sitting isn’t it? Please could you tell me which sessions you failed and passed. I also agree with Gabriel in that June P2 is more easier
January 16, 2015 at 2:13 pm #222825well guys you could be right, i noticed the same too during my time.. but i failed in June 2011 and passed Dec 2011
January 16, 2015 at 2:56 pm #222830I sat my first ACCA paper (P2) in December 2013..
Q1 was a Cashflow which I had not practiced and it showed because I messed it up in the exam.
I did a lot of my calculations on the Exam Paper as I stupidly thought would it would be placed inside my exam booklet when collected by the Invigilators…
I thought I would have scored in 30’s but luckily enough I scored 61%..
With P2 it’s very hard to figure out the marking system as it is very subjective. I have to say I think the examiner was generous in marking my paper not that I’m complaining.
January 16, 2015 at 5:40 pm #222848@0028673 are you serious? How can it be realisticly possible that you got double the marks that you had anticipated? Even that without showing workings on the answer book?
January 17, 2015 at 4:02 pm #222882During my 15 minutes reading time I was doing my journals on the exam paper.. after that I used my exam booklet..
I think I picked up the bulk of my marks in Q2 & Q3 I showed that I had learned the Isa’s by describing the standard and how it applied to the scenario… I really felt I was guessing for too much of the exam but I tried to show as much competence as I could…
I had sat 9 ACA exams before switching to ACCA so I really felt I had done a very weak paper…
It would be very beneficial for students to have their exam papers returned to them so that we can see first hand how exams are marked..

myACCA not working properly… too many errors ”404 not found’Keep refreshing the page and it’ll be normal.
Most times you’ll either get the whole page as 404 not found or some tables indicating that.
Although the Edit option is still there in the Exams link.
January 19, 2015 at 12:18 pm #222976We will see this time the pass rate of P5 paper compared to previous times!!!!
Since Jun 12′
35, 33, 31, 30, 29, ………….
January 19, 2015 at 2:33 pm #222995going by the series it should be 28
why the hell would 72% of students spread all over the globe studying differently fail?????
what a special examiner we have there
January 19, 2015 at 3:30 pm #223000Finalists……..anyone else getting adverts from course providers (e.g Becker,BP etc…)?

P5 is a beast…this is my third attempt. First attempt I got 47, second 42…and now I hope for the best. The paper was too time pressured and I keep thinking of the 10 marks I did not attempt, maybe they will determine whether I pass or fail.
January 19, 2015 at 3:45 pm #223006@Abdul i got one from Becker asking me to begin early studies and get a head start for June 2015. Aghrrrrrrr… i must say it unsettled me a bit, though not like last time about a week before results i got one from Global Training asking me to choose them and stop wasting money on retakes… that was worse… how they knew i was retaking P5 no one knows, how they knew i would fail again i just dont know… maybe ACCA or someone from acca leakes to them
January 19, 2015 at 3:56 pm #223007@Kibalka your damn right it unsettles, especially as I got the Becker one last time also. A leak possibly but ACCA better not be voluntarily giving out information….how unethical would that be.
On another note……….I see the technical glitches have already started…..when do you think they will start loading the results online? If I remember last time out it was 28/29th and the status report was static thereon.
January 19, 2015 at 4:12 pm #223008Abdul, i am waiting on P6 results, which is my last and just received an email from BPP about courses for June. Its a generic email though
January 19, 2015 at 5:19 pm #223012Guys I think we need to petition ACCA to change their P5 and P2 examiners. These two so-called “gentlemen” have stayed too long. A change is now needed. Maybe bring a lady examiner this time round, like P7

January 19, 2015 at 5:39 pm #223017well @ P4 we are in a changing world, and ACCA syllabuses (like F1 and F4) talk about gender equality so I think we need to see more lady examiner’s around. We need a balance. 7 men and 7 women in the examinations suite. 3 women are not enough. And by the way, I found F5 and F8 examiners very fair and honest. The F8 examiner, Pami, is brilliant. If you look at her predecessor, who was a man, Alan Lewin then his exams were not fair at all.
I agree I’m a man but I certainly believe that changing the examiner’s gender won’t make the papers easier or harder so really student’s challenges have no solution, apart from that magical pass. But it’s always good to see a lady examiner as she will set a more accessible paper, I believe.
January 19, 2015 at 5:52 pm #223019Actually speaking many of us completed their exams up to professional level in their first attempt but they are struggling at the optional papers. It shows optional papers are become a huge bottle neck.
January 19, 2015 at 5:55 pm #223020totally agree with you @kumaran. I even passed F1-F9 all in one go but now I’m having serious “going concern” difficulties with P2
January 19, 2015 at 6:25 pm #223025Gabriel
What came up in the decker 2014 sitting in P2 for consolidation?
I’m going to be doing F9, P1 and P2 this samester?January 19, 2015 at 6:26 pm #223026December***
January 19, 2015 at 7:16 pm #223029@kumaran I totally agree. Firstly I find the exam questions are often written in such a way to leave as many grey areas as possible in order to trip up students.
Also the marking system is such a stitch up that it is laughable. All this mark harshly/give credit depending on difficulty of the exams is a nonsense and a tool used to short change students and a means to maintain consistent but rank pass marks.
I think students of ACCA would have more confidence if there pass marks showed a greater variation that would be expected amongst ppl of varying abilities, circumstances etc….. Instead if u were too plot the pass marks as they are u would find the bell curve would be as narrow as a side zero supermodel.
