sir when you are placing an order that is the point you record it in your books rights(accruals basis of accounting) then if you want to verify that the recording is done in the correct period why do we look at the GRN instead shouldn’t we look at when the sales order was placed
NO – that is not what is meant by accruals basis of accounting. Also, you can’t recognise revenue until the performance obligation has been met (IFRS 15). Please see my explanation in this post https://opentuition.com/topic/sales-recognition-scenario/
