“Current issues will be examined across a number of questions.”
“is there any use of reading previous year questions dealing with current issues”
Hardly! They’re, almost by definition, no longer current
“how much marks approximately would be asked from current issues considering previous year trends?”
Could be as many as 20 marks – a big current issue / debate about some matter that has been taxing the profession
IFRS 16, the new accounting standard on leases, does not enter the syllabus until September this year.
However, you could find that the examiner asks a question along the lines of “What problems might an auditor encounter when considering the leases entered into by a client?”
It’s not a likely question, but I don’t believe that it’s too far off the wall
As for preparation, I recommended that you should read the last 10 technical articles – and that advice still stands
OK?
