1st Batch takes 1,500labour hours to produce. Learning curve is 85%
The total time for the first 16 batches of 100 units was 9000 hours.
What was the actual learning rate?
How do you answer such a question?
The average time per batch when they make 16 batches is 9,000/16 = 562.5.Making 16 batches involves doubling 4 times. Therefore the learning rate is the 4th root of 562.5/1,000 = 0.87
Have you watched my free lectures on this?
Hi Mr Moffat,
But the first batch hrs is 1500 units, so it will be (562.5/1500)^1/4 = 78% right?
Sorry – I was answering too quickly 🙁
You are right and thanks for correcting my error.
