sir in this technical article- Crowdfunding and impairment of financial instruments

the suggested answer says that only- “The commission ($280,000) would be charged against profit or loss for the period”

this is tad bit confusing.

so COS=$240K
operating expense=$280K

Or COS=$520K

basically i wanted to know how will the commission levied by crowdfunding platform be categorised?

The point is that it would go in the P&L. I expect it would be an operating expense.
