A owns a shop selling prints. She placed an advertisement in the Friday edition of her local paper stating

Unique opportunity to own a bell print for $500 cash. Offer valid for one day only tomorrow Saturday.

On Saturday D asked A if she would take a cheque for $500, but she refused to accept the cheque and told her she could not have the print.

Sir in the above scenario, cheque for $500 is a counter offer or Not?

Yes, it’s a counter-offer because the term $500 CASH is obviously a critical term so the off of a cheque payment is a counter-offer

    OK?

Sir but as we know that request for information / further detail is not considered as counter offer, so here in this case D just asked for $500 cheque, won’t it be considered just a request for information/ further detail?

But your further information about “… But she refused to accept the cheque and told her she could not have the print” takes the scene beyond a mere request for information

One can only assume that the cheque was element was part of a counter-offer

    OK?
