    Sir, here is the question.
    The X represents the advertising expenditure and y represents sales revenue. Why 0.5 is not the feasible value of correlation coefficient?

    + 0.5 is a feasible value.

    – 0.5 is actually possible but very unlikely because you would expect advertising and sales revenue to be positively correlated and not negatively correlated.

    Under what circumstances that revenue will decrease while advertising expenditure increase?

    I can’t think of any (unless everyone hated the advertising!).

    That is why I said that although it is theoretically possible it is most unlikely 🙂
