It may happen that some materials are wasted during construction. so we cannot classify these waste as cost of construction. it should be written off. my doubt is, how to classify these costs, should we write off in cost of sales or in operating expense. ??
When food is wasted in a restaurant business, is it separately identified? Surely it’s just a cost of sales.
As materials are sent to construction sites, and some of that material is “spoiled / wasted” I cannot believe that the wastage is separated out from cost of sales and expensed elsewhere.
But if, in your further researches, you find that I’m incorrect, I would appreciate it if you would let me know!
