Sir I would like to know the formula of the consolidation percentage holding of one company by another.
And if a company purchases $1 ordinary shares of another company, what does that means? 100%?
You do not need a formula.
For example, if company X has 500,000 shares, and company Y buys 400,000 of these shares, the Y owns 400/500 x 100% = 80%
In your second sentence, $1 is the nominal value of the shares. What % they own depends on how many shares there are in total and how many shared the parent company owns.
ok thanks a lot
You are welcome 🙂
