at what point does consolidation commence, like does it start when a valid indication arises to all stakeholders or when the actual control is attained ?

“… does it start when a valid indication arises to all stakeholders or when the actual control is attained ?”

    What is a ‘valid indication’?

It starts immediately after it is recognised that the investor has control (or, under IFRS 10) effective control

    OK?

Until control (or effective control) is achieved then no consolidation

When talks are in progress, no consolidation

When an offer is made and some shareholders accept that offer … still no consolidation

When the holders of more than 50% of the shares have accepted the acquirer’s offer, THAT’S when consolidation commences

    OK?
