On chapter 18 (Kaplan study book pages 478 and 479), even though both Test your understanding 1 and 2 have a PURP this is not taken into consideration when calculating the NCI in Test your understanding 2 but it is taken into consideration when calculating the NCI in Test your understanding 1. Could you please advise?

    Thank you.

    Regards

And even now I don’t have a Kaplan study text – I thought that I did but, no, I haven’t

I have a Kaplan 2012 exam kit and a BPP 2016 revision kit but I don’t have a Kaplan study text

Just reading your post again, I have the suspicion that, in the first case, the sale giving rise to the pup was from the subsidiary to the parent whereas in the second case, the sale was from the parent to the subsidiary

The other possibility that could apply is if the sale was from the subsidiary to the parent at cost to the subsidiary

Or, yet another possibility, the sale from the subsidiary to the parent but the parent has sold all those goods

Would you like to look again and let me know if any one of my inspired guesses is correct?
