    Hi, Mr John. Can u explain more further on the question which didnt mention percentage acquired? I get trouble when I did the questions w/o percentage while doing the NCI & Group Retained Earning.

    Questions will always tell you how much acquired – either by stating the % or by showing in the individual company’s SOFP’s the number of shares the parent owns and the number of shares the subsidiary has in issue (in which case you can obviously calculate the % yourself).

    Hy Sir can u tell me the formula to calculate the Profit attributable to Parent company in P/L.

    This is not a formula exam!!

    The profit is the total profit of the group less the profit attributable to the NCI.

    This is all explained in my free lectures on consolidations.
