    I think we have a problem here! I suggest that, when the question was originally asked, it was an IAS requirement that goodwill should be amortised and the period was over the same period is the remaining estimated useful lives of the TNCA acquired.

    That information (estimated remaining useful life of assets acquired) must have been 7 years according to the question but, in subsequent adaptations that information has been omitted – at least, I can’t see it now!

    That’s the best I can do, sorry
