Could you tell me the difference between Performance Management and Performance Measurement?Would (Performance Management be helpful for PIPFA paper of (Performance Measurement)
I will answer your question, but in future please ask in the Ask the Tutor Forum is you wish me to answer – this forum is for students to help each other.
Performance management is looking at ways of improving the performance of a business (for example, how to decide on the selling price that will earn most profit; how to control costs.)
Performance measurement is examining ways of actually measuring whether or not performance has improved (for example, looking at the return on capital employed; measuring whether the quality has improved or not).
I don’t know the syllabuses for the PIPFA exams, but I would guess that certainly the chapters in our ACCA Paper F5 lecture notes (and the lectures that go with them) on Performance Measurement would be helpful.
