I would like to ask whether we should give conclusions to our answers even if not specifically asked in the requirement..
In the ACCA p2p webinar, the tutor specifically mentioned to not draw conclusions or Recommendations unless asked in the question.
But the ACCA answer marking states it is Necessary to give conclusions when we are asked to evaluate a topic.
What would you recommend?
It depends on the question requirements.
“Evaluate” (or assess) means look for pros and cons – like two lists. So, if asked to evaluate a potential strategy, I think it would be absolutely natural to show a short conclusion/recommendation even if not specifically asked to. It’s really part of the evaluation.
If you were asked to provide a slide with briefing notes just explaining something – or even just briefing notes – then conclusions would probably be out of place.
