Hello,
In planning which exams to sit in the year ahead, I would like to know which subjects are mainly computational and which are mainly discursive / theoretical.
Also if people would like to recommend which two to take together, I have F6, F8, F9 and all of the “P” subjects to complete.
Thanks π
February 15, 2012 at 5:30 am #94437Hi,
Well, let’s seeF6 is computational …relatively easy and veeeeerry fairly marked.
F8 is a pure theory. Very dangerous paper. Some people think it’s boring, some paper like it alot immediately. But the truth is , no matter how much u enjoy it and how much actual exam seems easy for u, there is always a very high chance to get a fail. Many people attempt it up to 3 times and more.
F9 has some computational and some discursive elements ,
Pass rates for this paper are quite low and i would say, it’s hard. But at least u can immediately realize it’s hard and work at it.
As for P papers , think of say first two first.
P1 – theory ..not very hard, very real life oriented
P2 – very hard one, combines both theoretical and discursive elements. Well, good luck with this paper πWhich exams to sit.
Well, if u think of sitting theoretical one with computational, then u can attempt , say F6 and F8.
But i would suggest u to leave F8 and sit it with P1. Because they have common areas. The only problem with this combination is that it will be all just theory, which might be a not easy to study.February 15, 2012 at 10:56 am #94438Thanks ansi,
I think I would rather take a mixture of theory / computations together as I would find it less confusing than two computational and less boring than two theoretical π
I wont be able to sit any exams this June so I am thinking of buying the books for one (say F8) and making a good start on it now so that I can concentrate on the other come Sept. Between F8, F9 and the “P” papers (I definitely won’t try F6 by home study!!), are there any that are likely to change significantly between now and the exam, or should books published now be ok for Dec 2012 sitting?
Thank you π
February 15, 2012 at 5:55 pm #94439You are welcome,
you won’t try F6 by self study?? why? it’s one of the easiest papers.
If u have money to pay for tutors, then i would suggest to pay for F8 or F9 which are really hard to pass.
Syllabus is updated once a year, so if u buy books in 2012, that means those will be suitable for both June and December session π so u don’t need to worry about that πFebruary 16, 2012 at 4:04 pm #94440Wow I would have thought F6 was one of the hardest, I’ve been putting it off for some time now… more research required I think!!
Thanks so much for your help π

Hello,
Any expert please guide me what should I do, I gave P6 and P7 together and failed in both.my scores are P6=24 and P7=43 ,
Really dont know what to do?? β¦I have made a decision to attempt P7 again..but cannot decide about p6 should I attempt it again through self study..or Switch to P5 and study under a gold status institute and attempt it whole heartedly ??? - AuthorPosts
