    Hello,

From the historical test, I read the note regarding the date of registration and notification. What does it mean ‘ registered from the end of month following month in which limit is exceed’
What is date if it exceeds at 31Jan or 1 Jan ?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I believe both of those dates would result in the same notification deadline and registration date.

The notification deadline is 30 days from the end of the calendar month in which the turnover limit is exceeded – so in the case of both of your dates this would appear to be 2nd March although I’m not 100% sure how that would work with February only being 28 or 29 days long? So say the registration limit is exceeded sometime March, HMRC must be notified by the 30th April regardless of the specific day in which the limit was breached.

Registration is effective from the end of the following calendar month regardless of when HMRC is notified within those 30 days, so the date of registration is the same as the deadline for notification.

I think this is right – please someone correct me if it’s not! And I hope it helps.
