Hi Mike!
Could you explain how does a voting by poll work as compared to a show of hand?
Thanks.
Initially, the Chair at the meeting will ask for a show of hands to see if the resolution has been passed simply by counting the number of MEMBERS (present in person or by proxy) voting in favour and the number of MEMBERS (present in person or by proxy) voting against
If the result is not clear, or if >5% request, the Chair will then call for a vote count … a poll … and the number of VOTES cast in favour of the resolution are counted and the number of VOTES cast against the resolution are counted and that vote count will determine the result of the members’ decision
OK?
