Hi. I had chosen a company (AMD and intel) and amd being my primary selection and topic 5 . AMD has shown exceptional performance for the past 2 years and just a small growth in the 3rd year . Also even thought they are competitors AMD also generates revenue from some additonal products . So can I take these two companies ? thank you

September 26, 2022 at 7:52 am #667207Gillian, do you mentor in topics 13 & 14? If so, how long on average do your full time students take provided they go hard on it everyday? And do we need to take into account a specific number of years?
September 26, 2022 at 12:41 pm #667220Yes these are topics I do mentor for. It is a bit like ‘how long is a piece of string?’ in that the RAP is like exam grades – dependent also on natural aptitude as well as time.
As an academic I find some students take to academic work very quickly while others find it harder to develop their work because they are used to everything being set out in study texts and don’t know how to do effective research, express their ideas well and make clear arguments. All of the topics are harder than a few years ago and whereas perviously I would have said on average for all students 2 – 3 months I think I would now say 3+ months – but slightly less for a full-time student and for any student who is particularly good at thinking for themselves ‘outside the box’. But this is a VERY rough guide….
Although being a full-time student has its advantages with work like this in terms of time management, it is sometimes good to have a break away from it occasionally. It is like as if when you are so immersed in it you cannot always see the wood for the trees, but a break [say for a holiday or revising for an exam] can help you see the work more objectively through a fresh pair of eyes and helps to identify the weaknesses in your own work. So in a nutshell the longer the better (within reason) is often more beneficial if you are after a higher grade.
