Can anyone tell me if I have to know the salient point of this act or is it just the 2006 act?

Most of the Companies Act 1985 has been replaced by the 2006 Act. Some aspects of the 1985 Act still apply such as legislation relating to scottish floating charges and receivers and company investigations but in terms of studying for F4 the 1985 Act can essentially, I believe, be ignored. The 2006 Companies Act is the latest in a series of Companies Acts and company law is governed largely by this Act.
