Types of committees
Standing committees: these are permanent committees within the management structure of an organization and have specific duties assigned to them. Standing committees play an important role in corporate governance by focusing on areas such as audit, remuneration, nominations, and risk management. Each of these will have a committee
Ad hoc committees: these are temporary committees set up to deal with specific issues or projects. They end once their objectives are achieved. For example, a company may form an ad hoc committee to investigate and recommend a new IT system.
