What’s the relevance of that statement? It appears in Example 2 in Chapter 11.
What accounting treatment would be required if the parent HAD accounted for dividend?

That’s sound like something tricky.
Shouldn’t the Parent accounted for dividends only if it have received it?
I think that if company HAD accounted for dividend, cancellation of that entry would be requred..
