    Sir, I’m planning on writing F9 and F6 in Dec session. I’m halfway through F6 but haven’t started F9.

    I’ve acquired a BPP study text and a revision kit. But the text looks very lengthy and confusing.

    Hence you find me here. Can I solely do the lecture videos along with the notes and clear the exam. I consider myself an above average student.

    No, the lectures and notes cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam, but it is vital that you practice every question in your revision kit – question practice is just as important as the studying.

    And do appreciate that F9 is unlike F6 in that it is not just a question of learning rules. The examiner designs questions to check that you understand what is happening and have not just learned rules. Because of this only 50% of the exam involves calculations – the rest is testing you on your understanding of the topics.

    Although not entirely on-topic I still wanted to ask the question;

    I am going trough the F9 lectures, it seems each chapter is presented with a new calculation.

    Each calculation on itself is not hard but I am worried to mix-up/use the wrong calculation for the question.

    Do you have any recommendation/suggestion how to apply the right formula to the question?

    Thank you

    It is a question of understanding why were are doing it, and then practicing as many questions as possible.

    You must buy a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers and practice every question – that it the only way of becoming confident of applying the correct technique to each specific problem.
