Is the competitor supposed to be better than the company I am analysing?
Which is a good company to compare with NVIDIA.

Topic 8 is about a company in a SECTOR that has faced challenges – I stress this because yesterday the University held a webinar for mentors where it was revealed that a significant number of P45 students have been failed as they ignored this aspect. So first and foremost ensure the industry sector your company is in fits this category.

I don’t actually mentor for this topic but the approach I would advise is to see how your company has dealt with the factors in its business environment by doing a thorough PESTLE and SWOT analysis and APPLYING the findings from this in your evaluation. You should aim with the comparator analysis to demonstrate how the companies have dealt with the sector challenges by comparing and contrasting their performance in terms of these challenges. The focus is therefore on the way they have managed their particular strengths and weaknesses etc..through their strategies to deal with the challenges supported by the ratio analysis -as opposed to the other way around (I.e. blindly presenting ratios without the context of the various challenges)
