how to calculate this benefit? in exam Q of dec 2010 (JOE JONES)
according to the updated revision kit, the calculations r :
exemption amount 28$ per week since joe is higher rate employee, the taxable benefit will be 936 [(100-28)=72 x 13]
My question is how we got 13 in that calculation (i guess that is a no. of weeks) but how?
the employment period was from 6 april 2012 to 31 dec 2013 and total nursery cost paid by co. was 11400 (190days at 60$ per day)

Hi anam, I do not have access to that question at the moment but if I correctly remember it, Joe Jones had 2 employments during the tax year from which his child was provided with a place at a work place nursery from one which is an exempt benefit and childcare vouchers from the other which I am certain was from 1 January 2013 which in the Kaplan exam kit I am sure you were told was 13 weeks until the end of the tax year!! Are you sure you have read the right answer to the right question???????
