Hi, Can you please help me on child care vouchers.
How would I know if someone is high tax payer or basic tax payer.
In dec 2010 case joe jones how do we know that he’s a basic payer?
Thank youSeptember 26, 2014 at 10:38 am #196496You are a basic tax rate payer if you fall into basic tax rate band i.e 0-33050 and higher tax rate band would be 33050-onwards.
(I have assumed 33050 as the limit. however, you would get the point if you are studying this)
a tip for a mistake i did in exam is: child benefit percentage never goes above 100%
September 26, 2014 at 4:50 pm #196544Yes this part I know 1-32010 $ 55 32011-150000 etc, what I meant is how to know if you fall into this category by looking at the salary? what figure i should take and verify if this fall in any of the three band limits;what would give me hint that yes this is a basic , high or additional tax payer… Thank you :))

Ignore the previous reply to your query which confuses child care vouchers and the child benefit charge and yes the level of taxpayer for this purpose is based upon the employment income of the taxpayer.
