Chapters 1-5 self study

Hi

I have downloaded the course notes but I can’t really see how it is telling me to do the examples in chapters 1-5 as there are no lectures and are self study? Maybe I am being a bit dippy but for example how would I know how to do question 1? Or any of them. Sorry of I am asking a silly question but I only bought the practise and revision kit for f7 from bpp and not the study text. Thank you.
