    I have gone through the example 5 answer at the back of the notes, but i didn’t follow up on how you got the nci investment valuation in w2 (goodwill).

    Please do explain it and thank you for all your video lectures and efforts.

    It’s the nci’s proportionate share of fair valued net assets at date of acquisition

    25% x ($20,000 share capital + $18,000 retained earnings)
