    At the end of chapter 8 there is a section on buying a subsidiary by issue of new shares but it’s not covered in a lecture. If it is, which one.

    AND if you issue new shares as in the example 1 in chapter 9, why aren’t the new shares reflected in the Equity shares of the parent company end of year balance sheet?

    The topic isn’t covered in lectures because it was a late addition … and that’s why the explanation is fully detailed within the course notes

    Here’s an extract from the question:-

    “Only the cash payment on 31 March 2011 has so far been recorded”
