I’m working through question in Chapter 10 and I can’t get to the figure shown in the answers for the Dividends? Also, I’m struggling to do working 3 to prove the figure. Have you time to explain please?

Is this the example Lasma and Goda?

What figure are you getting for the dividends?

Or, better still, which figure in the answers are you unable to arrive at?

Why are you even looking at dividends? The question asks you to prepare a consolidated statement of profit or loss and intra group dividends won’t appear in there … neither as receivables nor as payables

Unless you tell me how you have arrived at $5,704.20 I have no chance of pointing out to you the error of your ways!

Tel me the figures that you have arrived at and then added / subtracted in order to arrive at $5,704.20 and I’ll see if I can sort it out for you

    OK?
