“state and explain the rules of statutory interpretation” …

… I’m looking at page 14 of the BPP study text applicable for exams up to 31 August 2018 and I see there a list of the rules of statutory interpretation

I assume that you too are looking at that same source text

OK, tell me what it is that you don’t understand and I’ll try to explain it to you but you cannot reasonably expect me to type out the entire table from page 14

Two elements of international law – public and private

Public international law is law that applies internationally and is accepted as being applicable when a nation / country signs up to be governed by that international arrangement

Private international law exists because countries (not all) have their own laws, rules and regulations that may have an affect on international dealings

There is a variety of sources of international law:

    – conventions and treaties (examples are found in the arrangements under which the European Union member countries operate)

    – international custom (not such a major element now that international law is becoming more certain by the process of formalising the law in conventions and treaties!)

    – those national laws that I mentioned already

One of those laws that applies pretty much universally is the law relating to copyright protection for study material. So, for example, if you were to ask a former F4 Law paper prize winner to send you by email a copy of the study material that was used, that would be asking the prize-winner to commit a criminal act and you yourself would be committing a crime simply by asking for that material

Any such similar requests that we see on the OpenTuition site are delated!

    OK?
