June 19, 2014 at 7:53 pm #177245I can only answer here for P3.
The study material will cover most of what you need, but there are syllabus additions as follows (we will up date our notes for these changes in due course):
Business change:
Explain that business change projects are initiated to address strategic alignment.
Apply the stages of the business change lifecycle.
Assess the value of the four view (POPIT – people, organisation, processes and information technology) model to the successful implementation of business change.Principles of information technology:
Advise on the basic hardware and software infrastructure required to support business
information systemsIdentify and analyse general information technology controls and application controls required for effective accounting information systems
Evaluate controls over the safeguarding of information technology assets to ensure the
organizational ability to meet business objectives.August 18, 2014 at 7:49 am #190817AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Hi,
Just wondering do I need to purchase a new book the book I currently have is for exam sittings for 2011, has much changed since than?
Thanks
August 18, 2014 at 8:46 am #190838I assume you talking about P3? Are you talking about text or revision kit? You can do without a new revision kit by downloading the recent exams and answers form the ACCA’s site. Note the comments on quality below.
Around 2011, and this is a bit lost in the mists of time, additional F5 material was added to the syllabus and quality was moved to P5.
You can revise the F5 stuff by looking at material on our site.
In addition more IT has been added for the Dec 2014 exam. This is included in our current notes.
Overall, I think you can save your money.

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply well I have both the revision kit and the text book for P3 for the 2011 sitting, so you do think its ok to use them and not bother purchasing a new set of books? And obviously download the latest set of exam papers.
Thanks
August 18, 2014 at 12:45 pm #191331Yes, but see my comments above about syllabus changes you can catch up with on OT.
August 22, 2014 at 7:30 am #191840I feel its a bit irrelevant to the discussion topic, but I wanted to have a quick answer, if any body could help.
I am thinking to combine p1 with p2…..or should I combine p1 with p3…..what is the better option.thanks
August 22, 2014 at 7:30 am #191841sorry I meant to say. p1 & p2 or p1&p3
August 22, 2014 at 11:37 am #191893Sorry, but I have no views on this. It seems to me many students choose both combinations.
