    From the Chapter 4 of Open tuition lecturer note, Example No. 4, how to calculate the share of goodwill of RM20,000 in the working W3B and how to arrive the gain on disposal of RM 127,500?

    I don’t recognise these figures – are you sure these are opentuition notes you’re looking at?

    23,000 is the total goodwill and, of that, 3,000 is attributable to the nci. Therefore our share must be the remaining 20,000.

    According to my copy of the notes, the gain is 27,000 on page 220. Are you using an old copy of the notes? I changed the example in Summer
